Spotted the first Self Driving car in Portugal

It will arrive the day where there will be no steering wheel on cars. Where we will use our smart device to call a self driving car that will take us where ever we want to go.

All advantages, no cons
No more pollution, no accidents or traffic jams. We'll now exactly at what time we'll get to our destination. They will be electric, preferably from renewable sources and will drive more efficiency than any human driver.

Sharing
Cars can be shared by anyone, so they will have a much more utility, can operate all day and night instead a few minutes per day and parked almost all his lifetime. With no need for so much parking places, or garages, or wide avenues, roads can be converted for pedestrian use and gardens.

Goods
Goods can be distributed faster, cheaply and more efficiently. Just order something online and all the process will be done automatically from the factory until delivery to your doorstep. Communities that are more isolated will have better access to essential goods and services like medicine or ever water without paying a lot more for them.

More Mobility
For people with disabilities, elder, children, will have much more mobility so they can go where they need without being dependent on someone to drive them.

First Sight
This weekend I was dog walking by the beach side walk when notice a car with a LIDAR on the rooftop. A white Audi A6 with a German licence plate that had just parked. Gone talk to the passengers and asked if it was a self driving car. For my joy they said it was, that the car belong to Audi and they were checking the roads here in Portugal.

ps: I love driving and love cars, but this is the evolution for a better future that's impossible to deny and will greatly improve society as a whole.
